Musicians Battle: Opening Day LA Dodgers

I recently attended opening day at Dodger Stadium for a sold out game against the Arizona D-backs (or D-Bags according to a few t-shirts being sold).

Before the game, while walking through the parking lot, from a far I heard the faint sounds of “Tamborazo”, which is essentially a Mexican Marching Band. They attracted HUGE crowds, lots of dancing and all around good time.

As we continued walking, we ran into a Ragtime Band playing near the entrance. Their crowd was significantly smaller, but they did manage to get a sympathy dollar donation from one of the latinos in attendance.

The marketing lesson here is obvious.

Viva Los Dodgers!!!

    Hi Ferny,

This was brilliant! Know your target market – truer words were never spoken. And knowing your target market will yield amazing results.

Not knowing your target market yields equally remarkable results – of the worst kind. Been there – done that.

Thanks for a humorous and informative lesson in very few words.

    Alan
